1. Best Run Ever – This one is hard. I don’t really think about running in that way. I’d say my best run is the one I just did.
2. Three words that describe my running – Fun, Steady, spastic
3. My go-to running outfit is - Performance T-shirt, compression shorts, skirt, wool socks, Fiona, Brooks Ghost, Garmin, iPod shuffle, RoadID
4. Quirky habit while running – I do math in my head – like what would my time be if my splits were x; what do the rest of my splits need to be for my total time to be y; how many miles do I need to run each week for the rest of the year to end up with a total mileage of z. Things like this.
5. Morning, midday, evening – Usually lunch. If I need longer or if it is going to be really hot, morning.
6. I won't run outside when windchills are below 0°F or if it is dark and icy.
7. Worst injury and how I got it – I have been lucky not to have any major injuries but I have had a host of minor ones – ITBS, plantar fasciitis, Achilles and peroneal tendonits… Worst injury was a sprained shoulder and broken collar bone. Not a running injury but it did keep me from running. I got it doing judo with a boy who was much younger, faster and more reckless than I.
8. I felt most like a badass runner when I was planning my last 10 mile run before a spring half marathon. I have lived in ND all my life so you would think I would have better judgement. I had only put in a skirt for my run. It was May. It was drizzling and the wind chill was 32°F. I could have gone on the treadmill but 10 miles on a treadmill is a long time. I went out in the skirt. My legs were bright pink when I came in and chaffed to boot. I had a great run.
9. Next race is the 61 for 61 5K at the end of September.
10. Potential running goal for 2013 is toeing the line of the Fargo half marathon injury free.
